Civil War Court Day

May 20th, 2017 11am-5pm

Historically court days served as a day where locals could meet, trade and witness court proceedings. They became hubs in the communities, attracting local businesses and travelers.

Travel back in time and witness a historic court procedure as an audience member inside the historic court house and decide for yourself if the verdict was fair or cruelly unjust. Then explore the 1855 jail and note the differences between living conditions back then and today.

Additionally, there will be an National Park Service Historian leading guided tours around the court house area.

Performances in the court house will be at 11am 1pm and 3pm.

Spotsylvania Museum at the Merchants Square will be open for more in depth information on the Battle of Spotsylvania Courthouse.
