One of Virginia's most popular lakes, Lake Anna offers 13,000 acres of swimming, sailing, water-skiing and sport fishing. At the Lake Anna State Park, visitors and the community enjoy picnicking, horseback riding, bicycling, hiking trails and camping. Additional natural attractions include the Ni River Reservoir and the Hunting Run Reservoir. There are also community gathering places for sports, music and other outdoor activities, such as the County's award-winning Patriot Park and the popular Loriella Park, with its lighted sports fields, swimming pool and Frisbee golf.

Fishing is available (state fishing license and access permits are required). The facility has boat rentals, or you may launch your own. Gasoline engines may be on a vessel but no fuel tank or fuel may be connected to motor and no part of motor can be in contact with water at any time while on Hunting Run Reservoir. Lake Anna State Park is 2,304 acres with 8.5 miles of lake frontage. It has more than 13 miles of hiking trails, lake-shore picnicking, a guarded swimming beach, a children's play area, boat ramp, food concession stand, bathhouse and children's and handicapped fishing pond. On summer weekends, interpretive programs on the nature and history of the area complement exhibits and displays in the visitor center. Three shelters are available  for rent through the Reservations office at 800-933-Park. Fees are: Parking: weekdays $3.00, weekends $4.00; Parking & Boat Launch - weekdays $7.00, weekends $8.00; Parking & Horse Trailer - weekdays $5.00, weekends $6.00; Beach Admissions: Adults (13 & up) - weekdays $3.00, weekends $4.00; children (3-12) - weekdays $2.00, weekends $3.00; Group Swimming (10 persons or more) - adult $2.50, child $1.50. MC and V.

Two-mile stretch of the Ni River Trail, off U.S. 1, that loops past a wetland area and an old farm pond and includes an overlook of the Ni River basin. Walkers and hikers may catch glimpses of deer, beavers, foxes, birds and salamanders.
